We are the only Moravian Church in the State of Illinois and the founders of the village of West Salem. The Moravian Church is the oldest Protestant Church still in existence founded in 1457. During 2007, The Village of West Salem will be celebrating it 150th anniversary and the Moravian Church will celebrate 550 years as a church.

The mission of the West Salem Moravian congregation is to help lead one in the direction of our Savior Jesus Christ. Our worship is not about one form of worship over another, but aimed at pointing one to Jesus. John 12:21 to me says it best.

"They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. "Sir," they said, "we would like to see Jesus."

It is our hope that you will see Jesus on this website and in the life of our congregation.

If you are in the area we hope you will join us for worship. If you are new in the area, please come, and we hope that you will make our church your new church family.

The time for our services on Sunday are 9:00 a.m. Sunday School and Worship is at 10:10 a.m. Starting Tuesday October 17, 6:30 p.m. will be an evening Bible Study. We welcome all to join us.

God Bless you and your family,
Rev. Terry W. Weavil
